Fish as Pets

There are lots of options when we want to take care of a pet. We can have a dog, a cat, a rabbit, a guinea pig, a parrot, a turtle, a lizard or a fish. Let us concentrate and focus on the fish. Fish as pets are now very common because it is not that expensive to have a pet fish. There are lots of kinds of fishes, there are goldfishes (which are the most common one), Kois, Sharks, Cichlids, catfish and many other fishes that are available. Fishes, for the Chinese in their Feng Shui, are good lucks. It is said that fishes attracts good energy thus giving us good luck! Fishes for some are just for food and for the other fishes are for decorations. Well, we might see them as such but fishes are more than that. Even though you and your fish is separated by a glass wall (which is the aquarium) you and the fish can still communicate. The rumor that fishes can only remember 3 seconds is false, fishes do remember your face when you look at them through the aquarium. Well, in any case fishes are a good pet to have. The only requirements before taking care of a fish is patience, responsibility and well, an aquarium.

Guinea Pigs as Pets

Do you know Bugsy? The Guinea Pig that has a very huge eye who starred at "Bed Time Stories" with Adam Sandler. Guinea pigs are known for their cuteness and uniqueness. Guinea Pigs are now common pets for everyone to enjoy. There are different breeds of Guinea pigs available today.

The Peruvians which are known for their long hair. Their hair can grow to at most 20 inches long.

The Texels are known for the curls in their hair. The curls vary from one guinea pig to the other.

The Rex is a guinea pig that is the opposite of Peruvians. Instead of having long hairs, the Rex has short hair that stands up. The length is at most half an inch.

The Silkie is just like the Peruvian but the difference is that the silkies' hair grows at the back of its body and will never cover the face unlike the Peruvians' hair.

The Abyssinian are the breed that has hair which are short and are like crates. It is very unique and uncommon.

The last one is the short hair or the most common guinea pig.

These are the different breeds of guinea pigs, it is best to know the pros and cons of each before actually owning one.

Caring for a Dog

Dogs are the most common pet that we see around, it is the most favored pet of most of the people in the world. In the United States there are at least 61 million dogs. However, not all of these dogs are taken good care of.

Sometimes they are neglected and left to die. So, how are we going to take care of these dogs properly? Before owning a dog, there are some rules that you need to take into consideration.

First, owning a dog entails responsibility. They need lots of attention especially if you plan to own a puppy. Puppies requires most of the attention that you could give. This is also the stage where the puppy tries to communicate and to socialize. This is very important because this sets the foundation when you want to train your dog later on. So, if you don't have the time then forget owning one.

Secondly, you should know your pet's diet. yes, it may be tempting to feed the dog with cheap dog food but this could affect the dog's health. You should feed your dog with nutritious foods and check the food reviews before giving something to your dog.

Thirdly, training your dog entails lot of patience and hard-work. Trained dog are easier to manage and care for. Training does not start at a certain age, rather it starts as soon as you bring your dog or puppy at your home.

Fourth, remember to have good grooming for your dog. Dogs must be groomed at least once or twice a week. Check every part of them, their eyes, nose, nails and hair for bad grooming may cause health problems.

Lastly, never forget to ask veterinarians for inquiries about your pets especially if your pets behaves differently. Check ups for your dogs can be done at least once in two months to maintain your dog's health.
